Heres a faded R100s that has been waiting for new paint.
There will be 3 colors all under clear starting with a gold for the pinstripes as well as a base for the red followed by a black faded in across the pinstripe then clear coated in a familiar BMW paint scheme. We are lucky to have found a restored bike of the same vintage and colors online for an example to follow. |

All the pieces are in expected shape for the years. Things to look out for early are cracks and fractures in the fibre glass side covers and front fender as well . ..

These parts may look rough now but they are in excellent shape with factory paint on them !

The tank had a added double tape stripe covering an original single faded one.
The replacment fairing is now in ABS.. |

When using chemical strippers covering with plastic keeps the parts "wet" and allows a longer soak even overnight.

now to add a little filler where needed to get everything ready for primer at the same time.

The side covers had some tiny cracks that didn't show up until they were stripped of old paint..
