This one has been waiting on the weather. It's been so nice in the Bay Area that everyone has had extra months of riding this year. And then the rain comes.
There is some light bodywork needed on the tank and fenders as well as fiberglass repairs to the finned side panels and then we'll have something ready for new paint.

..The color will be code 605 . It has faded from the sun and will be a darker like in the picture. The luggage rack is where the tail piece is cracked through on both sides.

In the same trip to drop off the race parts the rest of the bike was taken apart and now we have all the peices and a jump start on the tank..

Epoxy resin is the key to bonding new mat to old fiberglass

Even though it sets up in about 20 minutes it still needs 24 hours to cure and gas out enough to put regular filler over.

A pic to remember where the emblem goes ,, and getting in tight places with a burr tool to rough up hard to reach areas.

The mirrors are ABS and can be plastic welded

Some parts are done in stages of glassing and clamping then unclamping and more glass then filler before primer.

after a rough trimming and double checking for missed cracks 80 grit takes down the mat glass and sets it up for finishing putty...
