Default Slammin on the clear

Heres a helmet that has just been basecoated in PPG's ICI Autocolor to match a BMW motorcycle color. Now, PPG's DCD35 Clear 2-1-5%(2) DU-5 (1) DT1895 (5%) A top shelf clear with a slower curing hardener goes on hitting the surface hard. Heres video showing gun distance and speed. The first clip is the first coat of clear going on kinda mellower as a tacky coat. It's not like in the movies where the gun is turned on and off a lot. The trigger is pulled off the surface and the passes change direction off the surface as well.

The first one shows the gun moving fast to put a light coat on and then (after 15min) the second clip shows the second and last wet coat going on a little heavier moving the gun slower yet still close and hitting hard.
Click the link and then click open, follow prompts..yada yada.

The visorcaps are painted as well. this is a brand new helmet in this project washed and scuffed with a red scotch brite pad then a 1/2 coat of Bulldog promoter out of a spray can on there to 'seal' on the plastic. When your useing Bulldog promoter, just a "drop"coat or enough to cover once not like it says on the can.

The first coats of color get "dusted" on with a lot of air as well to really drive it into tight places.

In the California Sun,

"be one with the spraygun"

the answer---->repetition. To stay on top of the paint game you have to paint, paint, paint,,, alot. The only way to get the perfect paint job is. . .. .
Spray everyday . It can only be explained as another sence of knowing just how much paint/clear your shooting out by the feel through the gun when squeezing the trigger.
Like a pool cue, ya just feel it...Ever see a pool cue with a gauge on it...? Even the best pool players have to practice everyday or they get rusty and lose that edge.

And then we don't paint anything for a few days, get a little off our game and the next thing we know we're sanding a run or fixing and fussin .

Don't take any of it to serious though, remember this is fun!

Thanks Chris, I wanted to show how clear likes to be hitting the surface so hard it "explodes" into/onto itself. The air is set high, the fluid tip set a little lean and the gun is maintaining a 6 inch distance away moving at a steady speed.
