Default BMW Dakar luggage case paint

Heres the steps to take to color change the Topcase cover to match the "brushed aluminum look" side cases for BMWs.

First the ABS plastic textured finish must be sanded flat with 180. Xtra care to the edges. Hand sand the edges with water and wet/dry 180 grit.

An adhesive promoter will also help tape stick on the rivited trim that should remain on the piece so as to save it's shape etc.

Epoxy primer is a must since the final finish is to appear as metal.

Once primered, use a guide coat as usual to make sure everthing is level and uniform. Let primer cure overnight.

Heres the look we wanted. With the topcase the same color scheme it made the luggage package flow.

Heres another custom Dakar Bike project. First a bit of mock up on the computer by the owner. The cases are going to get the blue white and flag theme..

These can be a relaxing pleasure to do since there is room for creative design.. Step by step the owner of these cases is actualy in control of what happens from his computer by shop webcam and via e-mailed pictures.
