You have got to be kidding, right? The way it looks, it should take about 1 day for body repair, 1 day for paint, and 1/2 day for reassembly, plus a couple of hours for minor buffing and clean-up. And I think these times are rather conservative. So,$2300.00 dollars of labor for three days of work, that looks preety good to me. Now I know that I am new to this forum, and I have no idea of what kind of a shop that you run, But where I'm at that seems like good money. Please enlighten me if I am wrong, it just seems like it wouldn't be that hard. Keep on hammering!

$2300 would be about right for Memphis but I know in California they get about twice the labor rate we do here. Just 70 miles from us they get $10 an hr more on all labor rates than we do. California has the highest labor rate in the U.S.. I am assuming thats why its higher but what do I know. I wish we had their labor rates here

GoThumbs that's the deal, .. But remember I'm in California where a gallon of gas is $2 and orange juice is $8 a gallon
I've got to save the hood to keep it in the fixable range. And it could be a 4 or 5 day job though. I'm one guy and juggle 3 & 4 cars at a time. The owner is in a rental so theres really no rush. Heres another one that a insurance company says is a total. It's a 1977 Porsche 924. The owner wants me to save the fender so the 25 year old faded stripe stays right there. It was here a few months back for the same fender. Those are original Martini Racing stripes faded and all and mean everything to this Porsche. . . Also the bumper took a shot as well as the headlight door , front panel and lowwer valance. This is a vauled regular customer who wants it to look seasoned not new so to match to whole car's personality. |

The tab that meets in the front with a bolt is going to be welded back as well

Theres not one part needed to do this job except paint. The marker light didn't even get touched . A little yellow in some of the white left over from that other Honda is going to match that 25 year old off white

Sorry , got side tracked
Back to the Miata. With the fender off the car and the new one handy to check progress , not much force is needed to tug things forward. |

3 bolts and the headlight assy. could be moved out of the way just enough to work without disconnecting a lot of wires and gizmos.
